Power Generation/Augmentation

Turbine Air Systems (TAS) is the inventor and world leader in the supply of chilled water systems for turbine inlet chilling (TIC) applications.  Our founder completed the first turbine inlet chilling system in the 1980’s and since that time, TAS has completed over 350,000 tons of TIC projects, adding over 1,200 MW to our customer’s combustion turbine plants.

Since the first TIC projects were completed, acceptance of TIC technology for all types of gas turbine plants has been industry wide, with the most advanced gas turbine in the world selecting TIC as part of their base system design.  Currently, all types of gas turbine users have implemented TIC, ranging from regulated utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), industrial manufacturers and merchant power plants.  All types of gas turbines from older e-class turbines (7EA, 501D) to aeroderivatives (LM6000, FT8, RB211) and the large F-Class units in simple and combined cycles have successfully implemented TIC.

In addition to building TIC systems, TAS designs and manufactures high efficiency modular energy systems for the commercial building and industrial process industries.  We utilize highly engineered standard product designs, modular construction techniques and factory manufacturing IS0 9001:2000 quality processes to build on-site energy and power augmentation systems recognized for quality construction, performance reliability and industry leading operating efficiency.

TAS energy systems span chilled water and air-cooled turbine inlet chilling plants supporting the power generation industry; on-site clean heat and power systems supporting commercial and industrial markets and waste heat applications supporting the industrial market.

As an industry leader, TAS is focused on cost and schedule performance.  Compared to the traditional design / build, field constructed industry practice, our highly engineered, standard product designs help lower initial capital cost, reduce life cycle operating cost, mitigate project risk and shorten project schedule.

TAS systems are installed around the world.  TAS inlet chilling power augmentation installations can be found in North and South America, Africa, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.  See our TAS global project experience map
