Efficiency:
TAS modular central plants can achieve efficiencies up to 20% greaterthan conventional field constructed plants. When compared toair-cooled roof- top units, TAS chilled water plant technology issignificantly more efficient resulting in operating cost savings forbuilding owners and industrial process managers.
First Cost:
TAS’ modular central plants offer first cost savings of 15 – 20% whentaking into consideration capital equipment, project construction, andpotentially avoided costs in the construction of a central plantbuilding. TAS’ large volume of installed chilled water plants offerssynergies not gained by smaller firms such as volume purchasingagreements, global sourcing and the benefit of consistent skilled laborwhich has standardized the process of factory manufacturing chilledwater plants.
Project Schedule:
Factory manufactured, modular chilled water plants and energy systemscan shorten project schedule by up to 40%. TAS employs an assemblyline approach to building standard and custom engineered energysystems. All TAS products are modular and skid mounted for easyshipment and installation.
Footprint:
In tight urban settings, chilled water plant footprint is a criticalfactor. TAS plants are designed and constructed to minimize footprintwithout compromising the ability to easily maintain and service allcomponents. By leveraging modular construction techniques, TAS energysystems may be installed on elevated platforms and are fully portableif facility requirements change.
Constructability:
Site construction involves risk. Inclement weather, skilled laboravailability, material supply and logistics, remote site constructionand installation safety are all site construction risk factors. TAS’modular systems are designed to mitigate risk through quick and safeinstallation. The base system is constructed at TAS’ factory andshipped to the construction site. The cooling towers and piping areeasily installed on site.
Maintainability:
TAS systems are easy to maintain. All components are easily accessibleand serviceable. TAS manufactures a wide range of standard productsfrom 200 tons with removable panels to 8,000 tons, for individualunits, with control rooms and other features commonly found in larger, traditionally designed chilled water plants.
Reliability:
TAS systems are tested in our factory and the chillers are factorytested prior to shipment to TAS for final assembly. TAS offers aPerformance Monitoring feature, which monitors comprehensive systemoperating efficiency and alerts Plant Managers of component orperformance degradation risk.
Quality:
TAS is ISO 9001:2000 complaint. We maintain a Quality ManagementInformation System (QMIS) which tracks individual projects from receiptof purchase order. Quality control is essential when tracking parts, materials, orders and projects. TAS quality manages logistics for over1,500 parts, which comprise a typical TAS designed chilled watersystem.
Service:
TAS either directly services your energy system or arranges for servicethrough a partner firm. TAS systems offer a full year warranty on allparts and with our single source control, we are able to guaranteeoperating efficiency at commissioning. We design, build, install andcommission your cooling or energy system. With single sourceresponsibility, we simplify the role of chiller plant operations andmaintenance.
Environmental Benefit:
TAS systems are inherently more efficient in their design and dailyoperation. Increased efficiency directly equates to lower energyconsumption and a smaller carbon footprint for your facility. Commercial buildings are one of the largest contributors to greenhousegasses. TAS high efficiency chilled water plant or clean heat andpower systems consume less energy, lower your carbon footprint and saveyou money.

TAS’ Industrial Refrigeration Engineering Expertise– Focus on total system responsibility, from conceptual design, engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning
TAS’ Industrial Solutions engineering team offers over 20 years experience in every industrial refrigeration & process system that we’ve designed and built. Our modular refrigeration and process systems ranges from 1,000 to 9,000 tons (3.5 to 32MW) of refrigeration capacity utilizing various refrigerants for applications as low as –40ºF. With TAS’ focus on environmentally friendly refrigerants, our standard systems are ammonia based. However, our system design concepts allow for a wide range of flexibility with a variety of refrigerants to meet any application requirements.
In addition to our technical expertise, design software is a critical foundation to our system design and validation. Design and validation start with process modeling of any proposed systems. We have adopted HYSYS, as our core process modeler for design and validation of our systems and for sizing of major components such as exchanger, compressors, valves and piping. In addition to process modeling expertise, we have software expertise in Autocad, SolidWorks (3D) modeling, STAAD model, and in-house custom developed modeling programs.
Our technical expertise and experience enables TAS to develop process systems for the Oil & Gas, Power and industrial process markets. As highlights of our expertise, we have designed two of the largest ammonia refrigeration systems in the world for the power industry. With our combination of analysis tools and engineering expertise, TAS is uniquely positioned to cost effectively support a wide range of industrial processes – from design to validation – no matter how complex the customer process.
